Reaching the EPLO Premises

The ELGS campuses are located in the center of Athens, at Plaka, as well as in Legraina, Sounio within the premises of the EPLO. The Athens premises in Plaka can be reached via metro (Red/Green line-“Monastiraki” stop).

The Sounion premises, located approximately an hour away from Athens, can be reached by car or public transportation. The bus line is KTEL ATTIKIS and you should ride the buses with direction to Sounio (this bus is usually orange with a “SOUNIO-ΣΟΥΝΙΟ” indication on it).

A bus stop for this specific line is located at Filellinon Street, Syntagma Square, in the Athens center. The orange line can also be reached at the Terminal Station which is in Mavromataion St. ( Pedion Areos parc near the Polytechnic School of Athens). Nearest metro stop to Mavromataion St. is “Victoria Square” reached with the Green Metro line (taken directly from Monastiraki station) .  If in the center of Athens you may want to use a taxi, which will cost you around 10€ from Syntagma square depending on the traffic.  Otherwise, you can also walk following the directions hereafter:

Once you come out from the Syntagma metro station, you turn left and continue straight on Stadiou Ave., until you encounter 28is OKtovriou Ave. on your right. Continue on 28is Octovriou Avenue until you find Alexandras’ Avenue (Leoforos Alexandras in greek) , again on your right. A few meters ahead you will find on your left Mavromataion St., and an orange signal stop, for the KTEL Bus Terminal Station. The direction of the relevant bus is SOUNIO (or ΣΟΥΝΙΟ in Greek) and the buses that go in this direction are normally orange.  The bus ride to get to Legraina which is a suburb near Sounion where our premises are takes around 1,5 hours by bus and costs €6.20, payable only by cash. During the ride, you can enjoy the stunning view on the blue Aegean Sea. Buses leave on an hourly basis from 07.30 to 17.30 in wintertime and from 07.30 to 20.00 during summer. You can check on their website for more information or call at Pedion Areos Bus Terminal: 210 88 08 082. Ask the bus driver to make a stop at “Legraina”. The bus stop is located near the entrance of the EPLO/ELGS premises.
