  • You Are Now In Charge
Getting to class, doing the homework, getting your papers in on time—all of these are things you're going to have to do without anybody following up on you. Step up and take responsibility. You're in charge of this thing.
    Studying starts when classes end
College work does not end when classes do. Most of the work is done outside the classroom. Schedule your studying time early in advance and find yourself a quiet pla ce to study.
    Pursue your passion
Each semester, be sure to take at least one course in something you're good at and are really interested in. The joy of doing something you enjoy—and doing it well—will go a long way to making up for all the unpleasant things you have to do at college. Guaranteed.
    Seek mentor(s)
Find people of previous semesters that are willing to provide you useful advice and information.
  • Stay on Top of Academic Requirements
Read all graduate school guidelines and department requirements literature carefully. We suggest that you preregister for courses to ensure that you get into key required courses. We also recommend that you identify and complete the necessary forms and procedures needed for graduation.

    Dealing with time pressure
It is normal that you find yourself at some time under pressure mainly due to the amount of work you have undertaken and the level at which you are expected to work. It is time to manage your work.

    Study now - Study groups
It’s much harder to procrastinate on graduate level work than it may have been when you were an undergraduate so stay on top of your studies. Begin your study and organize study groups so as not to study alone.

    Take advantage of your professors
It is an opportunity for you to meet some of the most prestigious personalities of your field and discuss with them your expectations.
  • Support material
Make support material available to you in a variety of ways, such as on paper or online; learn how to use discipline-specific bibliographic databases.

Adjust to working in a research environment

    Time management
Manage your time so as to combine effectively all the activities of a researcher.

    Connect with your supervisor
Get constantly in contact with your supervisor and receive guidance from him.
