ELGS and the Italian Republic Support Guest Lecture by Prof. Luca Lantero at Roma Tre University
As part of a broader initiative of the European Law and Governance School (ELGS) of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), in cooperation with the Italian Republic, and within the framework of collaboration with academic departments in Italian universities, Professor Luca Lantero delivered a highly engaging and timely guest lecture at the Aula Magna of the Department of Political Science, Roma Tre University.
The event, supported by Professor Maria De Benedetto and attended by Professor Emilia Fiandra, Director of the Department, drew an audience of undergraduate students and faculty specializing in international relations and education policy. It formed part of ELGS’s commitment to advancing legal literacy in the field of global higher education governance.
In his lecture, Professor Lantero addressed critical yet often underexplored dimensions of the international academic landscape — including the legal recognition of qualifications, the divergent structures and terminologies of academic degrees, and the growing challenges posed by “diploma mills”. His analysis provided not only a theoretical overview but also practical insights for students navigating cross-border education options.
In addition, Professor Lantero introduced the European Public Law Organization and the ELGS’s academic programs, emphasizing the legal integrity and global portability of qualifications awarded through legitimate institutions.
The session proved to be both academically enriching and practically empowering, equipping students with the necessary tools to assess the credibility, legal validity, and international recognition of higher education credentials—an increasingly vital skill in today’s interconnected academic environment.
This lecture exemplifies ELGS’s and the EPLO’s broader mission to foster legal clarity, transparency, and mobility in education across Europe and beyond.
