ELGS Joins the Council of Europe’s OCEAN Network
The European Law and Governance School (ELGS) of the European Public Law Organization (EPLO) is proud to announce its official membership in the Open Council of Europe Academic Networks (OCEAN), a pan-European initiative that connects universities and academic institutions committed to fostering academic cooperation and promoting the values of the Council of Europe, including human rights, democracy, the Rule of Law, and inclusive education.
Through this collaboration, ELGS reinforces its mission to provide high-quality legal and governance training with a strong international and comparative perspective. As an OCEAN member, ELGS looks forward to actively engaging in joint initiatives, academic events, and collaborative research projects that promote the core principles and conventions of the Council of Europe. This partnership opens new avenues for student and faculty participation in transnational academic exchanges, conferences, and policy-oriented discussions.
Our Resident Lecturers, Dr. Nikolaos A. Papadopoulos and Professor Dora Papadopoulou, serve as ELGS’s official representatives within the OCEAN Network, actively contributing to dialogue and cooperation with other member institutions and the Council of Europe.
In alignment with the values of the Council of Europe, ELGS has already integrated courses from the HELP (Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals) Program into its academic offerings, allowing students to gain practical tools and competencies in applying human rights standards across jurisdictions.
